The Advocacy Association, in tandem with platinum partner FiscalNote, proudly announces that nominations are now open for the Top Twenty-one in Twenty-one Awards. These awards aim to recognize the practitioners who have excelled in advocacy during the past very strained and crazy year. For many in our industry, advocacy became front-and-center like never before, and for their work, we want to pay honor.
Nominations open on September 10, 2021. The deadline for submissions will be October 8th. Finalists will be announced on October 29th and winners on November 10th. Details for the award ceremony will be forthcoming.
We are looking for practitioners who have shown aptitude in three areas during the eligibility period: 1) Successfully led an innovative campaign or ongoing advocacy/public affairs effort 2) Helped to advance the profession through thought-leadership, training, education, and/or mentorship 3) Involvement with the Advocacy Association. A short statement addressing the three areas identified above (maximum 100 words total) about why the nominee should be considered for the Top 21 in 21.
Twenty-one in '21 is strictly intended to recognize association, non-profit, and corporate professionals who are practicing grassroots, public affairs, government relations, lobbying, digital advocacy, and policy development. Last year's winners, vendors, agency officials, and government employees are not eligible for consideration but are strongly encouraged to nominate clients or other members of their network.
Nominations will be reviewed by a committee of last year's winners, overseen by members of The Advocacy Association board of directors. Board members, their spouses, significant others, and other direct work colleagues or clients (if a board member practitioner undertakes side consulting work) will be ineligible for consideration.
