The Advocacy Association And Government Affairs Industry Network Join Forces

The Government Affairs Industry Network (GAIN) and The Advocacy Association are thrilled to announce that we are now one organization—better positioned to continue bringing great programming and services for all advocacy professionals!

On the heels of a historic election and through the pandemic, we are reminded of the importance of our work and our profession. Advocacy, political engagement, issue education and voter registration are core elements of our democracy.

The two organizations have shared similar goals: to provide advocacy professionals with free or low-cost educational and networking events, and an inclusive arena for thought leadership and the development of resources to benefit our community. As one organization, The Advocacy Association is now positioned to deliver more comprehensively on these goals.

Many of GAIN’s traditions will serve as cornerstones for future programming, such as the annual Career Workshop and Jobs series, the Congressional Baseball Game Pre-Party, our partnership with The George Washington University's Graduate School of Political Management, and the Politics, Communication, and Advocacy webinar series.

With more than 10,000 advocacy practitioners combined, the Association welcomes GAIN members into the one organization. Planning for 2021 is underway, and together we look forward to an exciting calendar of opportunities through The Advocacy Association

Why merge?

The Government Affairs Industry Network has merged with The Advocacy Association to create a stronger and broader network for the advocacy community. The Advocacy Association will now represent every facet of the government affairs network and will provide free and low cost educational and networking opportunities for grassroots, communications, lobbyists and pac professionals throughout the country.

"We are thrilled to have the Government Affairs Industry Network join the Advocacy Association and have us continue our groundbreaking efforts to provide leading content and education for all members of the advocacy community. We welcome all members of GAIN into our network and will continue to build upon their great series of events and add them to our robust calendar of educational and networking opportunities for 2021 and beyond."

Joe Franco, President, The Advocacy Association
